ABOUT METAL BOND DIAMOND TOOLS
Metal bond grinding wheel tools offer the long life and low maintenance you need. Suitable for all levels of both wet and dry grinding, these tools are built for endurance and performance.
Such metal bonded diamond tools are created from the sintering of powdered metals and other compounds with Diamond or Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN). This produces an extremely strong product that holds its shape. Metal Bond maintains a long tool life, with reduced need for frequent dressing. Metal Bond wheel have the hardest matrix, performing best in operations under flood coolant.
Unlike resin and vitrified wheels, metal bond wheel material can’t be removed to release dull grit and expose new edges.

Metal bonded diamond tools are primarily used for processing hard and abrasive materials such as:
Glass
Carbide
Ceramic materials.
Concrete and cementitious surfaces.
Granite, marble, and other natural stones.
Hardened metals and alloys.
-
Using a Metal Bond Diamond wheel for steel is not generally recommended due to wheel loading and high heat that results. In some cases, CBN is used in place of Diamond and certain steels and alloys can be ground with Metal Bond products.
