Proudly made in the USA, Continental Diamond Tool Corporation is a global manufacturer of superabrasive grinding wheels and dressing tools in New Haven, Indiana. With customers on every continent, CDT proudly provides technically superior precision tooling to a number of industries for many advanced manufacturing applications. In 2018, we added a second manufacturing center when we acquired our subsidiary in the United Kingdom, Continental Diamond Tool Ltd. Our History

Started in 1973 by Ray Viggiano, Continental Diamond Tool took shape with only two employees and a single product line in a 4,500 sq. ft. building in New Haven, Indiana. Since that time, CDT has grown into a second-generation family business, providing technically superior precision tooling to many global industries. Founder Ray Viggiano is still actively involved in the business where his son Nick Viggiano is now President. In our state-of-the-art 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing center, CDT engages in new product development to meet customer needs.

    • CDT opened the doors on the first 4,500 sq. ft. building on Hartzell Street in New Haven, Indiana

    • Ray Viggiano was the first CDT employee

    • CDT began production of Metal Bond products and Diamond Dressers

    • CDT launched Resin Bond product line

    • CDT launched the Plated product line

    • CDT attended our first trade show, for the Fiberglass Fabricators Association (FFA) in Reno, Nevada

    • CDT’s first expansion to the Hartzell Street building, adding 8,000 sq. feet

    • CDT promotes a team environment that fosters professional growth, and many employees have been working at CDT for decades

    • CDT’s second expansion to the Hartzell Street building, more than doubling the size to 20,000 sq. feet

    • CDT’s third expansion to the Hartzell Street building, again doubling the size to 40,000 sq. feet

    • CDT launched Vitrified product line

    • CDT’s fourth expansion to Hartzell Street building, increasing the size to 55,000 sq. feet

    2018

    • CDT acquired Consort Precision Diamond Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of Rotary Diamond Dressers in the United Kingdom

    • CDT completed construction and moved into a brand-new 130,000 sq. foot manufacturing and office facility on Rose Avenue in New Haven, Indiana

    • CDT’s first expansion of the Rose Avenue location making room for a research & development lab is further enhance performance of all product lines.

    • CDT announces the opening of its state-of-the-art Grinding Lab to expedite research and development and spur innovation for customers based on specific industry applications.
